David Gorvitz and Marc Singer Represent OLSS at The Washington Institute’s Scholar-Statesman Award Gala

OLSS was represented by Shareholders Marc Singer and David Gorvitz at The Washington Institute For Near East Policy’s annual Scholar-Statesman Award Gala, recently held at the iconic Plaza Hotel in NYC.

For well over a decade, OLSS has supported the Washington Institute and its scholarship on the Middle East through the lens of America’s interest in peace, security for its allies, religious nonpersecution, and prosperity in the region.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Institute’s 2025 Scholar-Statesman Award to retired U.S. Army general Michael “Erik” Kurilla,  who headed the U.S. Central Command until August 2025. The traditional interview given by the honoree featured a lively and insightful discussion of the U.S. military’s role in the Middle East, including its relationships of trust with Israel and America’s Arab allies. Other recipients of this prestigious award include global leaders such as former President Bill Clinton, Prime Minister Tony Blair, King Abdullah II of Jordan, Iranian women’s rights leader Masih Alinejad, and many more.
